When tomorrow starts without me

And I’m not there to see

If the sun should rise and find your eyes

all filled with tears for me

I wish so much you wouldn’t cry

the way you did today

While thinking of the many things

we didn’t get to say…

I know how much you love me,

as much as I love you

And each time that I think of you

I know you miss me too…

But when tomorrow starts without me

I hope you somehow knew

For all my life, I’d never thought

this love would see us through…

Our two souls met, without regret

We rushed with endless joy

Ignoring every social norm

like little carefree girl & boy

So much to laugh and live for

So many yet to do…

But it seemd almost impossible

because, you know, it’s you!

I thank God for our trying days

the good ones and the bad

I thank you for all the things we shared,

and all the fun we had

I thank you for your little ways

of expressing “I love you”

And I hope that through this poem

you’d feel how much I do…

If I could have a chance today

just even for awhile…

I’d say I love you and I’d kiss you,

and simply watch you smile

And when tomorrow starts without me

Don’t think we’re far apart

For every time you think of me

I’m right here in your heart.
